We are officially opening “Big Ideas for Young Humans: How Stories Create Community”. Enter Peggy Collin’s world of illustrations, and colourful characters, where there is room for growth and kindness. This celebration will include a reading of Harley the Hero by Peggy herself, as well as seeing a glimpse into Peggy’s sketch books while Harley was being designed. We’ll learn about Kingston 4 Paws and meet several of the Harley’s real life service dog friends. Perhaps we will even get to meet "Stanley" the now retired service dog that was the inspiration for Harley! Participants will also have the chance to make and colour their own origami dog.
Time: 10:30AM
Cost: FREE

About Kingston 4 Paws Service Dogs (K4Paws):
Kingston 4 Paws' mission is "To provide trained service dogs and their continued handling support to physically and emotionally challenged persons and their families, assisting them to become more independent in their Southeastern Ontario communities." They began as a partnership in October 2013 and with the interest and support of the community, became the non-profit they are today with charitable status by January 2015. After one year of operation, they had 10 puppies in training with foster families and the first trained dogs placed in early summer 2015. Since then, K4Paws continues to grow and play a vital part in the community. Learn more on their website: https://kingstonservicedogs.ca/
