At the museum we collect lots of things with stories. The hat you wear really does tell your story. What would the hat you create say about you? Inspired by our “Hats Off” exhibit, you’re invited to the Museum to make your own hat, using supplied materials. People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome. No party is complete without treats and goodies….so come ready to wear your new stylin’ hat in celebration of you! Museum staff will help bring your creation to life using fabrics and materials of all sorts.
Come on out for this special session at the Museum as we shout “Hoo-ray For Hats”!
The artful session is led by museum Curator, JoAnne Himmelman who recently curated the exhibit “Hats Off”. JoAnne has a love for textiles and is often found falling down rabbit holes of stories of who wore what and why when curating the museum collection. There is nothing so personal as what someone wore to bring our human past to life.
