Christmas Tree Collection will begin on Monday, January 6, 2025, and trees must be placed at the curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on this date.
Christmas trees can also be dropped off free of charge at the South Fredericksburgh Waste Disposal Site located at 651 Road 1, and the Roblin Waste Disposal Site located at 232 Roblin Road.

The session will feature a reading of If You See a Bluebird, which tells the story of Ali, a young Afghan refugee adjusting to life in Canada. Through storytelling and interactive discussions, Rahman explores themes of home, memory, and the emotional challenges faced by refugee children. The discussion will focus on the complexities of resettlement in a new country, feelings of loss, and how to talk with children about these issues in an honest and sensitive way

Author Bio:
Bahram Rahman was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and grew up during the civil war and the Taliban regime. He came to Canada as a refugee in 2012 and is now a manager at the Ministry of Health in Ontario. Bahram’s first picture book, The Library Bus, a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award, was praised by the New York Times for documenting the barriers to education experienced by girls in war-torn countries and their resilience and ingenuity in overcoming them. His 2021 picture book, A Sky-Blue Bench, was an honor book for the ALA Schneider Family Book Award, among many other honors.
